First day of the great exchange: who was freed from Russian captivity.


Today, May 23, on the first day of the exchange in the format '1000 for 1000', 390 Ukrainians have been freed from Russian captivity - 270 military personnel and 120 civilians. Among them are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the Navy, Airborne Assault Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, as well as the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War (KSHPPW).
The freed defenders were protecting Ukrainian land in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Kherson directions, and also participated in battles in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kyiv regions.

Those released from Russian captivity will undergo medical examinations, receive assistance for physical and psychological rehabilitation, all due payments for the entire Time spent in captivity, and reintegrate into society.
'The current exchange is part of the great exchange '1000 for 1000'. The Coordination Headquarters does not stop working and soon we are preparing to meet the second group of freed Ukrainian captives. We are working on returning everyone!', the message states.
