Ukrainians Allowed to Shoot Down Russian Drones: Who Can Volunteer Without Mobilization.


The government of Ukraine has decided to enlist volunteers to protect the country from Russian drones. The experimental project will operate during the state of martial law and involves the engagement of members of paramilitary formations and voluntary formations of territorial communities of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with appropriate skills and qualifications.
"It is planned to involve members of voluntary formations to protect against aerial threats from the aggressor state using strike unmanned aerial vehicles or manned aircraft," said government representative Taras Melnychuk.
Groups will consist of members of voluntary formations of territorial communities and individuals with certificates for unmanned aerial vehicles. Volunteers participating in the project will receive a salary of up to 100,000 hryvnias per month, which will be allocated from local budgets.
