New 500 Hryvnia Banknotes Have Appeared in Ukraine: Here's What the Banknote Looks Like.


The National Bank of Ukraine is preparing to issue unique commemorative banknotes with a denomination of 500 Hryvnias, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda. A total of 20,000 such banknotes are planned to be issued; however, only about 670 pieces remain.
The design of the new banknotes honors the legacy of the scholar. The front side features a portrait of Hryhorii Skovoroda with the inscription '300 World of Skovoroda', while on the back, you can see architectural constructions of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy associated with the philosopher.
This collectible banknote, which is sold in special envelopes, has received positive feedback for the relevance and importance of Hryhorii Skovoroda's works, which remain significant today.
