Erdogan discussed the third round of peace talks with Putin.


The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held a phone conversation with the leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin. They discussed the third round of peace talks. This was reported by Erdogan's office on social media.
During the conversation, Erdogan and Putin talked about bilateral cooperation between Ankara and Moscow, as well as current regional and global challenges. Erdogan also emphasized the importance of the third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Turkey is ready to mediate and host the talks in Istanbul when the parties agree on dates.
"During the conversation, President Erdogan stated that clashes that occurred after the withdrawal of Syrian security forces from Suwaida pose a threat to the entire region, and that it is important for Israel not to violate the sovereignty of Syria."
Prior to this, representatives of Kyiv and Moscow held two meetings in Istanbul, the result of which was agreements only on humanitarian issues. The issue of a ceasefire remains unresolved.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, commented on the possibility of a personal meeting with Putin, emphasizing the need for clear conditions and the involvement of international mediators. For his part, Putin expressed his willingness to meet and outlined the conditions.
The Ukrainian president, representatives of Moscow and Ankara discussed the third round of peace negotiations, including a possible meeting between Zelensky and Putin, concerning which the Russian leader stated the conditions.
