Military Training in Universities: What Students Will Be Taught.

Starting from September 1, 2025, basic military training will be mandatory for male students in all universities of Ukraine. The program can also be attended by women at their own request. It is aimed at increasing the defense capability of society and teaching citizens basic skills for their own safety.
'Well, basically, there is nothing complicated about it,' said MP Oleksandr Fedienko, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, adding that the program will now include skills in drone management, medical training, and other skills.
This training will be beneficial for students of military departments, who have the opportunity to become junior officers. Universities will independently set the schedule and conditions for the course, integrating the training into the overall program. Ukraine is preparing for possible threats and risks, ensuring its defense capability and readiness to respond to any challenges.
An important part of the educational program is not related to conscription into the army, but is aimed at enhancing the defense capability of society and teaching citizens basic skills for their own safety.
