On Friday, July 18, ambassadors of EU countries approved a new package of sanctions against Russia. According to the new restrictions, the price of Russian oil will be reduced. Radio Free Europe correspondent Rikard Jozwiak reported this on social media.'Green light - EU ambassadors approved anti-Russian sanctions. Official approval later today,' Jozwiak wrote. The 18th package of sanctions includes restrictions for Russia's energy and banking sectors, as well as for transactions related to 'Nord Stream' and 'Nord Stream 2'. It should be noted that Slovakia hindered the agreement on new sanctions, demanding compensation guarantees from the EU in the event of a complete ban on the supply of Russian gas to EU member states. It was previously reported that the European Union is preparing the toughest sanctions package against Russia since 2022, and that in the event of Russia's refusal to stop the war, the US will continue to impose sanctions and tariffs.
